Yes you can but it's not worth it on the FRS/BRZ. Do a lot more research before you mess with your car's ECU.

    Do Performance Chips really work?

I am new to Scion FRS cars, as well as modding them. I saw a website that sells a JDM Stage 3 Performance Chip OBDII Module for Scion cars. Supposedly it will adjust the car's computer to increase MPG, HP, and Torque? Is this legit? And if it was legit, wouldn't everyone be using it? The thing is like $200 bucks so it's not cheap, but not really that expensive either. I'm trying to figure out what inexpensive mods I can do to my car to get more performance out of it. I was told a Cold-Air Intake, Cat-Back Exhaust, and one of these Stage 3 Performance Chip OBD2 modules. If these chips are a scam, what other inexpensive mods can I do? And can anyone direct me to the best place to buy them online please? I appreciate your help!

    Thanks,
