Cheap simple FRS upgrades im thinking about

So I will be getting my FRS soon. I placed the order and Im so excited. Anyway, Im looking at some cheap upgrades for it when it comes in. Im thinking about the following. 33-2300 - K&N Replacement Filters, Replacement Air Filter direct from K&N and SS-1004 - K&N Performance Products, Oil Filter; Billet direct from K&N. Anything else I can add to my car to increase performance and not break the bank?

I have an frs and what I did for cheap was buy a k&n filter (50 dollars), cut a 2"x7" rectangle hole in the air box forward of the filter for great air access and sound, and buy a performance chip (volo vp12). Great noticable power gains and sound.

    Red face cheap upgrades

I have had my frs for 4 months. What I did for cheap upgrades is this: Bought a k&n filter, cut a 2"x7" hole in the top of the airbox forward of the filter (this gives more air and great sound), installed a performance chip module (volo vp212). It takes about 100 miles of driving to fully set the module. The results of both were very noticable and impressive power increase across the band. Lets put it this way, I can easily keep up with a honda s2000.

On the subject of tires; Michelin's Pilot Super Sport's while not exactly inexpensive at just under $800.00, will make you smile with off the line quickness and added agility in tight D radius turns.

But, how much are you willing to invest is the key question.............

General concencous is silicone tubing with a drop in filter will yield good gains without braking the bank. Although lighter wheels and tires are probably your best bet for all around performance.

So the volo vp212 chip module works? If that's true I might get one. All of the other ones in the market seem to be in the 400 plus range.

Upgraded brake pads, higher performance tires, air intake, exhaust.

    All considered cheap mods.

You could look into cheaper coilovers (around $1000) that would change the stifness and ride height of the car. Sway bars is something else to look at to increase chassis rigidity.
