FT86 vs CR-Z and other hybrids

Heres a pretty cool vid I found of the FT86 being compared to other hybrids especially its closest competitor the CR-Z. this video was done prior to TAS. unfortunately its all in japanese but still nice to be able to see all these cars. out of all those it looks like the FT86 is still the best overall choice.

The CR-Z and the Kiora are valid competition for the 86, but I doubt the hybrid market is where Toyota and Subaru will make their money, it will be on the sporty market that will thrive in North America and major urban areas of Europe.

the cr-z will definitely be one of its biggest competitor but i think the kiora wont be able to match up to the hype generated by the FT86 and the CR-Z. both the FT86 and CR-Z are banking on the legacy of their predecessors mainly the AE86 and the CR-X. the fact that both honda and toyota are thinking of making hybrid version means they're trying to hopefully capture the hybrid market since there hasnt been an appealing hybrid in the market yet.

Unless Toyota completely changes the FT86 which I didn't think they were going to do at first, the CR-Z is in a different class. The CR-Z is not a performance sports car, its a sporty hybrid. At the end of the day a hybrid sports car is a lot different from a traditional sports car.

Let's keep the FT86 in its own league!
