    2013 Scion FR-S Review [Video]

    Squeeze on the throttle at corner exit and the car begins to track out, with just a hint of oversteer. Get greedy and the tail will gently start to rotate. Ease off and the car tucks back in line. It does what you tell it to, no more, no less. The Scion FR-S is a return to the roots of what makes a sports car a sports car.

    It's not the raw driving machine many may expect. Its not visceral like a Lotus Elise or as singular in purpose as a Honda S2000, and it won't beat you up. In fact, it's quite civilized. It is, however, very much a purist's car and one that company CEO Akio Toyoda aptly remarked, "rewards proper driving technique."

    A better description of the FR-S, or Toyota 86 as its called in Japan, there isn't. The antithesis of modern sports cars, Toyota set out to create it as such, purposefully avoiding AWD, turbos, excessive technology and even high grip tires.

    wow, i LOVE the ending where the FR-S drifts right through 2 turns and keeps on drifting. That was on wet pavement, would like to see how well it can drift on dry pavement, i doubt it will get the same results, maybe something close?

    It may not be the raw driving machine we expected it to be but it's raw enough that we don't have all sorts of technology doing all the work for us

    at least with the FR-S we are in control and can get a full driving experience with it.

    if it drifts it drifts.. the low grip tires will drift regardless just depends on your skill!!

    but im very interested in this car.. that video almost sold me but i have yet to really drive this car myself!

    I'm sold man! that video was convincing and all i hear is how awesome this car keeps getting!

    Review after review people are stating how great it is and for under 30k who can complain.

    It has to handle better with a drop also, it sits so high!!

    Not me man, after all is said and done, people say the car lives up to the hype and all this and that.
    I still dont think the car lives up to what it can possibly be. i dont feel that this car is all that great to be honest.

    even with a height drop the center gravity will be even lower! must feel like its hugging the ground. Though i agree i gotta wait till i drive the car then we shall see from there!

    I'm starting to have a feeling that Scion/Toyota/Subaru intended to have this car roll out in the very basic form we now see it in since they plan to release an updated model yearly.
