Personally I don't think crushing the car is a good idea. And this isn't because I am a car fanatic and the sight of seeing a car being crushed burns my eyes.

IF you think about it logically..

If you crush the car... You have the spend money to crush the car obviously.. The staff. The machinery. And the car is wasted. All to teach the street racer a lesson. Let me show you how to teach the street racer a lesson while making it profitable for everyone and to stop wasting everyones tax dollars...

Take the car away... Auction it away. Keep the profit for government (there you go government free money). AND benefit the society by selling a Lexus IS-F for way under retail to a lucky dude or dudette who has the money for it and wins the auction. Take the kids license away for as long as you want. Fine him with $$$s of dollars. (more free money).

THERE. You get free money. We as the regular non street racing people get to benefit by enjoying a nice Lexus for below retail value. And the kid suffers. He has tens of thousands of dollars of debt that he will most likely never pay off. He can't drive anymore for years! Taking the bus! Aw yeaaa. Sucks a$$. NO more driving for the kid let alone racing.

what doesnt make sense is why dont they just part out the car or sell it to a scrap yard with a un-registerable title... and just sell it off for parts instead of spending money to crush a car.... makes no sense to crush cars...

i have a hard time believing that California state would crush a car like that for street racing, if anything the state would keep it for law enforcement agency's for undercover work or even as a bait car for breaking up car theft rings.

a bunch of guys are saying that this car is a pre production model Lexus used in car shows. It has no vins or vin plates so can't be sold or registered so they crush them instead.

There has been history of cars being crushed in California for street racing. At least according to the internet. Don't know what you have to do to deserve it because not all street racers get their cars crushed. Maybe you have to pass a certain speed.
