Stanced MR2: One Hell Of A Drug

The MR2, a Toyota classic! Too bad the last 10 years we haven't seen anything as good as the MR2 from Toyota, but the FR-S will take us back in time to the 90's when Toyota build some amazing sports cars.

Not a huge fan of the whole stance thing, but this actually looks good, no overkill!


Sometimes you own a certain chassis that you just get hooked on it like a drug. Even when you sell it to try something new you end up coming back. For Sergey Anisonyan the SW20 chassis, more commonly known as the MR2, was that chassis that no matter what he did he just kept coming back. Sergey decided that finally on his 3rd Toyota MR2, that it was time to do a full build on what has become his favorite chassis.



Sergey has gone through most of the car to build it how he wants; adjusting every little detail to his liking. For Sergey the most nerve racking part of the build was deciding what color would be laid on his MR2. This led to tons of time spent spraying test panel after test panel until he got the color dialed in. In the end, Sergey landed on painting his SW20 Macadania Metallic with a blue flake added into the color. The color really makes this car stand out from most MR2’s especially when it is sitting on a set of Polished SSR SP1 Professor wheels.



The color wasn’t enough for Sergey as he has done quite a bit of work to change the look of this Toyota. From shaving, to pulling, to replacing; Sergey has replaced or changed most of the exterior of the car to give it a look that you can’t stop looking at. This isn’t just an all show car though as he swapped in a 3sgte motor because who can resist having a little boost in their life. With all the work done all around this car, Sergey is pretty happy with where the car is but is considering more power so we will see what is in store for this MR2 in the near future.



For Sergey, he feels that the SW20 chassis is one of the most over looked chassis’ from the 90’s and with his MR2 he is definitely is making a strong argument for that. The end product of all of his work is a MR2 that will make people think again when deciding on their next project and might even land the SW20 some more devoted followers.
