Here's another thing I came across recently which I know will help everyone here one way or another. Most of the things they list are common sense but some of them are new to me.

I don't think I can afford to do some of those to the car. They probably cost way too much. A few things I want to add and are also affordable. First is have a hidden switch to your fuel pump. place it somewhere that you can reach easily while sitting in the car so they wont have an idea where it is. Second is have your windshield and all the windows etched as it cost very very cheap to do and also helps when trying to recover your car if stolen.
I've never believed in alarm systems. I've known too many police officers over the years who mention that motivated thieves will ignore an alarm system in many settings because of how much the public disregards them due to many false alarms. Also, professional thieves can disable most alarms in seconds. IMO, not worth the money.
I have OEM alarms in my 96 Camry, 04 Accord and my 08 GMC.
I'm not sure how effective they would be if someone really wanted to steal one of them, but It makes me feel their safe.![]()
^not to scare you but oem alarms are easily bypassed by breaking the window and opening the door from the inside. also your camry and accord rank pretty high in the "most stolen" list released yearly.
Unfortunately there is no way to theft proof anything. There are only theft deterrents and recovery precautions. The best deterrents only limit the number of people who possess both the skill and desire to take a given object.
