Truth about fuel additives aka octane boosters

I know most of us has tried at one point or another. I honestly thought it made a difference. Never really had any actual facts to back it up. Just bought based on the brand names. What I found out about them from this video suprised me.....

I am not surprised. Higher octane without the ECU keeping up with it just causes detonation and would make a decrease in power for sure. It was a great comparison and I hope the ricer kids who buy this crap see this. It does keep your injectors cleaner though and helps to reduce the amount of moisture in your fuel which is the only benefit I can see to the products.

Perhaps this is an ecumulative effect? could very well be just plecebo and really just wont hurt the car but wont help it much either.

Actually, most of these products contain some pretty toxic stuff. Toxic enough to eat through injector seals. I wouldn't recommend octane boosters to anyone.

Never knew that. Glad I never used them. Always wondered about what they really do. At least I found out before I actually tried one of these out.

so the effect is cumulative only its an effect of cumulative damage to your engine. This really makes me angry...
