That's really bad news. He helped design some of the most exciting cars Toyota ever built. He was an overall amazing guy. One of the best drivers and one of the few people left in Toyota that was passionate about building exciting cars. This also might delay their cars even more.

It seems like he did in such a simple fashion, mental error maybe?

from what ive been able to read they say he veered onto the bmws lane. he is honestly one of the best drivers toyota has and i know he wouldve had complete control of the car. he couldve suffered a heart attack while making the turn or something couldve malfunctioned on the lfa seeing as its still a prototype of their nurburgring edition.

I still haven't heard any news as to the fate of his "pet projects". It's already sad news that he died it'll even be worse if they cancel his final projects. They should continue it as a tribute to his legacy.

It is to my understanding that the LFA crashed into the BMW tester driver. The BMW test driver is seriously injured. I wonder what the true cause is? Also on my mind is if I am paying >$300,000 car such as LFA or Ferrari Enzo then I expect the ultmost in safety. Remember the dude in LA that crashed the Enzo and the car look like it split apart and he walked away with a cut lip. I know it is a different type of accident but still. BMW seemed like it was safe.

True but then again your hitting a on coming car going who knows how fast maybe 90 or more so id expect the damage to be gruesome no matter how safe the car is

    Unbelievable news

Good point on the safety of the vehicle as well, it is quite concerning. I assume this was an extremely rare or once in a lifetime crash.
