Toyota GT 86 Convertible Spotted in Cape Town

The Toyota GT 86 (a.k.a. Scion FR-S) that’s managing to generate more buzz than an obnoxious night club hype man was just spotted topless in the sun.

Where the differences between the GT 86 and FR-S are normally minimal, the nameplates make all the difference here. Scion is Toyota’s North American budget brand and because of that the convertible isn’t likely to reach U.S. dealers.

Toyota is supposed to be bringing a concept version of the car – called the GT 86 Open – to the Geneva Motor Show in March, but the picture here makes it look like a production-ready car.
