2012 Hyundai Veloster Priced from $17,300

The highly-anticipated Hyundai Veloster will start at just $17,300, very close to the targeted $17K mark that the Korean automaker first announced at the car’s world premiere at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

The news comes via Hyundai Motor America CEO John Krafcik who made the announcement via his personal Twitter account, with Hyundai commenting revealing that full pricing will be revealed later this week.

The Veloster (a unique model with two doors on the passenger side and one on the driver’s side) comes powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 138-hp and 123 ft-lbs of torque and is available with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed dual-clutch automatic. Hyundai has said the Veloster will get 40-mpg on the highway.

A dual clutch automatic? WTHECk. How did they keep the car under 20k? Man if the FR-S doesn't come with a dual clutch semi auto. How shameful would that be...
