FR-S /FT-86 Toyota To Offer Two Different Transmissions

The engineers stated that there will be two manual gearbox options with different ratios

So according to engineers which state in this article here with more details as well
    Autopista Drives FR-S / FT-86 / BRZ Prototype

    I
wonder if its all gear ratios or just a changed finial drive, with that in mind will it make it to the FR-S giving us two optional gear boxes since we will get a mono spec version of this car?

Since it is a 6 speed what do you guys think the ratios will be? Or Final Drive in a easier case of discussion.

It should just be a final drive change. I hope the FR-S gets the shorter final drive.

For gear ratio's, not sure about that, specifically speaking with numbers but if they want the FR-S / FT86 / BRZ to perform how they want it to, having shorter gear ratio's between 1-3 would be a good idea to help it get up to speed. By that time it's already up to 4-5k and making enough power at that point to push through the rest of the gears.

I agree. Gears 1-3 should always be short on n/a cars. 4-5 are really for high way cruising or high speed straightways on the track. I think the FT86 1st gear is quite long considering the 0-60 is pretty slow.
