Lets stop saying what they're going to give us, and tell them what we want!

I keep hearing everyone saying what they are hearing from other people about this car. But toyota executives have people scan these websites to determine what we want so they can build the car we want to buy. We need to stop talking about what toyota is going to make and start talking about what we want to buy.

I for one am tired of auto makers teasing us with awesome concepts and then watering the production version down to the point only my grandma wants one - case in point the CR-Z.

If I am going to buy this car I am going to expect the same look as the concept from the outside, don't change the fender flares, the front grill, the way the hood is shaped like an arrow-head, the size of the rims and tires, the cool split in the window sills around the windshield, the way the rear looks and the diffuser looks. Don't give it smaller tires and rims - that is the first step to "i'm not going to buy it". If you want to make a base version with smaller rims, that is understandable, but this vehicle should be made, as-is, for the high-end performance version. Don't change the projection headlight, don't change the front end to accomodate curbs, don't change ANYTHING on the outside other then following: I can understand that maybe the carbon fiber pieces won't make to production( this would still be best) and I can understand if the interior needs to be made to be more modest. Keep the speedo and tach digital and make sure it has a 6-spd manual. Don't let us down by ruining what could such a promising sports car for toyota and all the people like myself that bought nothing but toyotas their entire lives. I am 33 and the last toyota I bought was my 2001 prius(for my wife), I owned a 91 MR2 Turbo. My next car was a Saturn Sky Redline because Toyota got rid of all it's performance cars.

I also want the performance version to have around 240hp (turbo'd is fine) and be able to attain atleast .92 lateral g. This is not too much to expect as my Saturn Sky Redline had a 2.0 direct injected turbo engine that made 260hp and 260lbft of torque. not to mention that I regularly got 31mpg on the highway.
Alright, I've said what I want and not "what is toyota going to give me to buy next", so now it's your turn. Let them hear what you want, they'll listen as long as it's reasonable...

I want this car to look like the concept too. It's the first car in a REALLY long time that I've been excited for.

As far as what I want? I want a minimum of 200HP. If this car is as light as it looks that should be plenty. More is always welcome of course... I also want fairly high gas mileage out of it. Upper 20's to low 30's. There is NO excuse for anything less. I expect this thing to corner like it's on rails and be able to handle as good if not better then my old 1984 celica.

One last thing.. DO NOT use the same transmission that is used in the Scion tC (as well as the Tacoma). First gear is too short, 6 gear uses too much gas. Mate an entirely new transmission to this engine and make it a well balance one.

since the engine is being made by subaru, I assume it will based off the Impreza EJ series. I really hope they do something with the transmission, as WRX units are known to fail. people *will* be getting sideways in this car, and the drivetrain needs to be able to handle it.

    Sounds about right to me.

MPG is probably the lowest on the scale of my need, especially if they are sacrificing handling and speed for MPG numbers.

For the outside you dont have to change anything in my opinion it looks amazing

For the engine and transmission 200hp minimum and 6 speed manuel

For the audio it would be amazing if there was a upgrade such as 6 speakers and a 10-12" subwoofer or two and a auxillery input

As long as theres a 6-speed transmission available i have nothing to complain about

good luck and i hope to see it in the usa soon

The less they change from what they have shown us the better it is. I love the exterior as it is. I know the interior will change but I trust Toyota. Engine specs have look good so far but I think most just speculation so far. I just Toyota knows what the market wants.

Just make it left side driver and call it a day. Make their job a littlte easier why don't they. No but seriously, if they MUsT make some changes let it be interor only, and not lay a single finger to the exterior! I've changed my mind so many times on buying vehicles when certain changes were made on a concept car into production model, even the slightest changes can RUIN how a car looks!

If I had it my way- make it left side driver, start mass producing, US debut this year

Just don't **** around and make the interior 'cool' like a mini or some shit. Keep it simple. Same goes for the exterior. Looks good now, but don't make it like the celica or eclipse. fake plastic crap dripping all off them like a cheap japanese cartugh........
Don't make it a fat piece of junk either. Light = Good.

If they want this to be an 86 it MUST be balanced: Power, weight and handling!

The 86 should continue to refer to a car that can be used for drifting (controllably) with very few mods. If they succeed at this I will be happy

it will be cool if they had it setup like the 370z nismo package and add a twin turbo setup.

i want mine to be called the ft-86 gts tt limited edition with limited number stamped inside my car.

200+HP, yes; at least 150-160 torque is a must. 6-Speed has to be short and SMMOOOTH. Style has to be left the was it is or a lot of us will not buy it. And yes, ( I will hate myself saying this) if there is an automatic option, 5-speed with optional sport and eco modes.
