I keep hearing everyone saying what they are hearing from other people about this car. But toyota executives have people scan these websites to determine what we want so they can build the car we want to buy. We need to stop talking about what toyota is going to make and start talking about what we want to buy.
I for one am tired of auto makers teasing us with awesome concepts and then watering the production version down to the point only my grandma wants one - case in point the CR-Z.
If I am going to buy this car I am going to expect the same look as the concept from the outside, don't change the fender flares, the front grill, the way the hood is shaped like an arrow-head, the size of the rims and tires, the cool split in the window sills around the windshield, the way the rear looks and the diffuser looks. Don't give it smaller tires and rims - that is the first step to "i'm not going to buy it". If you want to make a base version with smaller rims, that is understandable, but this vehicle should be made, as-is, for the high-end performance version. Don't change the projection headlight, don't change the front end to accomodate curbs, don't change ANYTHING on the outside other then following: I can understand that maybe the carbon fiber pieces won't make to production( this would still be best) and I can understand if the interior needs to be made to be more modest. Keep the speedo and tach digital and make sure it has a 6-spd manual. Don't let us down by ruining what could such a promising sports car for toyota and all the people like myself that bought nothing but toyotas their entire lives. I am 33 and the last toyota I bought was my 2001 prius(for my wife), I owned a 91 MR2 Turbo. My next car was a Saturn Sky Redline because Toyota got rid of all it's performance cars.
I also want the performance version to have around 240hp (turbo'd is fine) and be able to attain atleast .92 lateral g. This is not too much to expect as my Saturn Sky Redline had a 2.0 direct injected turbo engine that made 260hp and 260lbft of torque. not to mention that I regularly got 31mpg on the highway.
Alright, I've said what I want and not "what is toyota going to give me to buy next", so now it's your turn. Let them hear what you want, they'll listen as long as it's reasonable...
