    F-RS/BRZ hp numbers, weight

I've been seeing reports around the interwebs of a 300bhp number for BRZ, and 200bhp number for FR-S, with a weight of around 2400lbs, anyone else been seeing these?

How are they getting 300hp out of a BRZ NA motor when they can only get 275 out of it with a turbo?

They stated that the BRZ will be under 300hp where as the FT86 will be around 200hp. I am guessing the BRZ will be between the FT86 and 300hp.

higher compression? so maybe the fr-s motor will be better to turbo as opposed to the brz?

Apparently its somehow only the ECU that is different. Don't know how that'll work.

if its only the ecu that'd be extremly weird but if they changed compression of the motor and other internals the fr-s id still think would be a awesome boost application

Let's hope we have at least WRX level guts to work around. If they have fragile rods, it will be a problem for making any sort of decent power. I am not into tearing a new engine down to build a forged setup. The guys 5 years down the line won't care since the car will be much cheaper and modders dream at that point.

    So they say....

I don't believe it can just be the ECU.

BTW we have a topic about the ECU found in the FR-S, FT-86 & BRZ and if it's the only thing that will cause a difference in horsepower between the three models or not.....

FR-S, FT-86 & BRZ power output will vary depending on each brands ECU

I still think there is no explaining the price difference between the FR-S and BRZ without going Forced Induction. There is no POSSIBLE way a FRS can be around $22k and the BRZ around $27K without something seriously different under the hood. Here is my theory.

The reason we have not seen a BRZ in the flesh is because there is something about the exterior of the car that gives it away as being FI. FMIC? TMIC? Boost Guage? Who knows, All I know is toyota has been showing concepts for years/ Subaru? Nothing! I'll bet my left nut the BRZ is FI with an output close to 300hp and a price of about $27k.
The FR-S will be NA from the factory $22k with a TRD Supercharger as a dealer installed option like the camry and tacoma that will bump horsepower up to 260 or so...

Joe, we all hope you are correct!! That would be killer for a BRZ with the WRX config under the hood!!!

If the FR-S has strong internals stock that would be a huge selling point for aftermarket tuning heads. That is probably my most anticipated concern.
