Column Mounted Electronic Power Steering?

So the FR-S FT86 was apparently designed with a column mounted EPS system. What do you guys think?

Personally a fan of mechanical power steering. A bit dissapointed that the FR-S is going to be electric. Don't like the feel of electric power steering. The LF-A has electric power steering and it feels great but that is a rarity. Wonder if that'll carry on to the FR-S.

Electric power steering blows...

Hopefully it isnt a dead feeling and there still is feedback in the steering wheel... as i find electric power steering to be very numb and boring feeling!

i want an electric power steering system, toyota never seemed to perfect the power steering system. a few of my older toyota's had seals that would go too often, high pressure line leak. a couple times i actually had to replace the rack and pinion
