Toyota Gets New Styling Chief, New Aesthetic Direction. Will the FR-S be affected?

not sure if you guys are aware of this but Toyota has a new styling chief and he's going to make some big changes to Toyota design's. Nagaya (the new styling chief) will adjust how aggressive Toyota vehicles look.

Usually when you think of an aggressive car, sports car comes to mind....

So I wonder if the new styling Chief will make any changes to the Scion FR-S/Toyota FT-86 in the future?

    Maybe a face-lifted FR-S/FT-86 for 2013?

This can be a good or bad thing depending how the designs turn out.

Do you guys think this new styling approach introduced by the new styling chief will have any affect on the FR-S?

Toyota‘s new styling chief, Dezi Nagaya, wants to abandon the company’s previous conservative design language for a new direction that is “…more dynamic, more masculine, sportier, with a more obvious design theme and a face to represent the company and the brand.”

Nagaya’s challenge comes with creating a unified styling language that can span everything from the Land Cruiser to the Camry to the upcoming Scion FR-S, which will be sold as the Toyota FT-86 in Japan. Nagaya said that Toyota will adjust how aggressive their vehicles look, with volume models sticking to a relatively conservative direction while models like the FT-86 would be much more exciting.

Nagaya was previous responsible for the second generation Toyota Prius and the Lexus L-Finesse design language.

I would say its a good thing a toyta's cars have become very tame and boring, is the corolla looks like a mini camry now with the front ends almost looking exactly the same, and the over all of the cars have not much difference other than size...

They need to re-fresh their lineup as everything just looks boring and bland

If anything Nagaya is going to stick his hand in the development of the FR-S FT86 production model and insist that it stays similar to the aggressive looking concept. Might be a good thing. Nagaya believes Toyota SHOULD have more aggressive styling. I like.
