Talking NEW info on scion FR-S

Well I think its new news.

I just found out from my dealer and he just told me there is going to be a AWD TURBO model!!!!!! Is this a true statement? He didn't know price yet but he assumes with subu backing making the chassy and power plant that it will be top end $25k and below. Hope im not getting excited about something already talked about or known but i am as i didn't read anything on them making that till maybe 2013.

I don't think it's true... most of the time the dealership guys know what we already know, if not less.. it would be cool if it was true, but we wont find out until subaru's reveal on sept 13, or toyota's reveal in december

I wouldn't take any dealer guy seriously they tend to know about as much as we do seeing how the corporation guys keep them just as much in the dark as us consumers up until the last second as in weeks before the dealer is supposed to actually get the production version to sell the the public. And seeing how we are nowhere near weeks close to production version being sold on lots but more like a year sorry to burst your bubble but that guys just making up rumors for a sale later on or something

Well i assumed the same about the salesman. But figured id ask and see if it can be confirmed. LOL he was very convinced and even when i brought up the name of the car alone kind of gives it away that it wont be AWD. But was already saying yes that the AWD they have been told will be a option and should be around $25k high end...Aww well, people can dream right

yeah.. i mean Front Engine Rear Wheel Drive - Sport kinda gives it away and sorry if I offend any people on this forum that actually work at dealership but most are complete morons and know nothing about the own cars they sell moreso even for cars that aren't even being sold yet, I had a dealership guy who was absolutely convinced before that the Corolla XRS had the same engine as the Corolla S when I was shopping for cars last year... just proves how dumb or in the dark most of them are only interested in making a sale instead of knowing the product they are trying to sell.

I think you gotta specify between all dealership employees, and dealership sales people. I will be the first to admit that far too often salespeople don't know nearly enough about the products they are selling. That being said, the SCION salespeople that I have been talking with about this car at my dealership are not only extremely knowledgable about the cars they sell, but they know their fare share about the aftermarket related to these cars too.

Most salespeople might not know the difference between a 1ZZ and a 2ZZ, but that's what helps me get a better deal when buying a car, knowing more about it than the salesperson.

PS: I highly doubt there are any techs at Toyota or Scion dealers that don't know the difference between a Corolla S and an XRS, so I'll try not to be offended.

A different dealership then the one I mentioned above that I had gone to get my pedal fix during the recalls. I had also decided to just get an oil change also since I was leaving my car there with them anyways (I usually go to my own mechanic for maintenance). And after looking over the receipt I noticed the part number on the oil filter seemed off to me so upon further inspection I realized they had put the oil filter for the 2ZR-FE rather than the 2AZ-FE my XRS has. I had to take my car back and talking to the technician I had to eventually demand to talk to the manager to put the proper filter on so you can see my bias towards a lot of the dealership employees including some of the technicians

Wow, it's nearly impossible to confuse an A6 oil filter for an A1. The A6 doesn't even have the right number of o-rings supplied! Definitely dont ever take your car back there. Ha ha, like I said, I'm not offended, I just hope you dont think were all that poorly trained. What city was the shop in, if you dont mind me asking?

that is some pretty bad service, those are the lazy tech's and dont get me wrong their are some amazing tech's none the less, but there are always stubborn kids and stuff that dont care and dont want to pay attention and just make do with whatever fits!
