    Toyota FT-86/FR-S or Subaru 216a?

News about the FT-86 has died down lately but its sister car the Subaru 216a has been in the news as of late. Both of them are going to be essentially the same car expect for two big things. The Subaru version is rumored to get 60hp more than the FT-86 via a turbocharged motor and will also be AWD. The downside is it will be almost $10000 more than the FT-86. Would you be willing to pay the $10k extra just to get AWD and a bump in power?

Last I had heard the latest rumor was that Subaru killed AWD for their version for their version of the car. Has that changed.... again?

It's on and off. I think they're doing the same thing that Toyota is doing which is milking as much news as they can about this project. Remember when Toyota said 2011 release date, then said it would have to be delayed til 2013, and the most recent one where an engineer working on the FT-86 project confirmed they are on schedule for a 2011 release date. I'm betting good money that Subaru will release a AWD version.

I'd rather FT-86 exterior with 216a motor with RWD transmission. Toyota looks, Subaru power on RWD platform is the perfect combo in my books.
