Expected Toyota FT-86 Release Date ??

Just as the title says, when are we gonna see this car??

Sometime in later 2010 most likely. I don't beleive a firm date has been announced. Toyota seems fairly tight lipped about it all as there is lots of competition for the sports car crowd and Toyota wants to be on top.

I'm expecting it to be out in September 2010. But that's just a guess, and has no basis in fact.

With a few different hybrid, next gen sports cars out around sometime next year, I think their release could greatly affect the FT86 date. My own guess is sometime July/August 2010.

The sooner the better imo but I would gather Japan will see it first sometime early summer (june) then the US will see it December....a nice xmas present to the US!

lol i think your all kiding yourselfs if you think this will be out by this time next year you don't normaly see a car from a motor show out the next year i would give it 2-3 years if it is even going to get made but don't get me wrong i want this has much as anyone else here

I'm putting my money on a 2011 year release but the model year of the car with be 2012. So late 2011.

I was hoping they would be releasing a near production ready car at the Detroit Auto show in January and seeing it year end as a 2011 - guess I'll just keep hoping

well the hyundai genesis coupe conepct was revielled in 2007 motor show and it got released in 2009 as a 2010 car so they might do the same with the FT86.

You have to love this point in a cars production/concept cycle where everything is so up in the air. Lots of rumors and different information to throw around our emotions in a good and bad way about the car!!

I know exactly what you mean. I was really disappointed when Toyota stopped production of the Celica. I'm not sure I would have bought one of the new models as I'm not a fan of FWD, but it was the principal. That was their last "sports" car. When I heard about the FT-86 and what it was bringing to the table I was (and still am) excited. I really hope this car makes it, if so it's going to be the next car I buy.

Hopefully the car is released before you save up enough money for it Don't want to be waiting 4 more years
