04 SFP Lexus IS300 NA-T 400~whp|'11 PW Ford Edge Sport "The Decepticon"| Scion FR-S... on the lookout
From what we saw of the pre-production models, these are all gonna have Subaru stampings on the panels. Might as well badge it as a Subaru. To me, the point of re-badging it is just to modify the car and be different from the rest and in that sense it would be a good idea to badge a Toyota 86 as a Scion Fr-S. I doubt we'll se that but hey...
Which panels show Subaru stampings? Even on the FR-S models?

As far as badging in this car goes. i still think subaru designed and made most things on this car and Toyota just took a ton of credit for it.
When the car first came out I thought it was the other way around. They both hard a part in it. The heart of it is Subaru - the engine. The design is Toyota and fiveaxis.

Never thought I would consider getting a Scion till I saw this car.
I remember a review where the sheet metal on the front fenders had the FHI stampings on it. I believe it was an 86, not an Fr-S, but seeing as how they're all being made at a Subaru plant, I wouldn't say it's impossible. This was an early production model back in November, but who knows...
Interesting... What is made at the Toyota plant then?

I don't think most of the car is made by Subaru. I'd be interested to see which components are made by Toyota.
I thought the only parts that are Toyota is the direct injection and tranny. The engine, chassis, and suspension are all Subaru
JDM>USDM...I think the preference of having "JDM" type products has always attracted us enthusiasts here in the states. What's kind of ironic is that several years ago when Scion was first created, the thought process behind it was Toyota was in need of a brand that would appeal to the Y-generation, which I think they were able to do successfully...but its just kinda funny to see how many of us who are in that younger demographic would still prefer to rebadge our Scion's to a Toyota considering the brand image Toyota carried around for so long...reliable cars that are just plain & boring, i.e. Camry. Looks like Toyota is on the right path of reinventing its image...just maybe![]()
