Moved from Waitlist to one of 86

I just received an email telling me that I've been moved from the waitlist to one of the 86. Also received a call from the local Scion dealer. Now to decide on color and transmission. The dealer apparently knows less about price, although he did say word among dealers is starting at $25,000. They have no knowledge of options or option pricing. Kind of hard to decide without test driving.

You could always back out. I'd say choose the color and transmission (cough manual cough) you want, wait for the pricing to come out, test drive one, then decide.

    Which country are you from?

    25K would be nice..

Just got back from the dealer and put my order thru. Argento with automatic. The dealer knew nothing about the contest until they were notified I was one of the 86. Interesting. Delivery will be in April, price around $25,000 per the dealer.

Thanks for the info. Hoping it really is 25K. Good choice in color.

Why'd you go for the automatic if you don't mind me asking?

The auto is a great system btw. Not trash talking the auto.

I sort of like the legacy of the automatic. It's a modified version of the current Lexus transmission which is pretty good..but after discussing it many times, I've decided to stick with the manual.

Aisin makes good automatics. I believe my Lexus IS 250 has one and I like it. Plus paddle shifters.

$25 000 as per dealer, sounds fair enough to me. Not the low $20k's i was hoping for.

Have you ever considered the Subaru version of the FR-S aka Subaru BRZ. Apparently it will have a few better things going on with it.

With a much higher price tag, Those few things are minor things here and there NOT worth ditching your original 86

being the first 86 for a car is awesome and just plain cool!

    Screw the BRZ FR-S!

I'm wanting a pretty basic car. Don't need or want all the electronic gizmos as I believe a sports car owner should be more of a purist and go for the driving experience. Granted I went for the automatic but most sports cars today use automated manuals. You can't even get a manual in a Ferrari and most Porsches are sold with the PDK.

Most guys who have driven the automatic love it. It's nice and crisp and the quick downshift throttle blips makes it pretty fun to drive.

The automatic in this is the same unit that came out of the IS-F. Expect shifts to be crips and lightning quick!!!
