Scion Canada FR-S MSRP is $30K?>?!

On the Scion Canada website under the contest fine print:

Scion FR-S Sports Coupe (Anticipated Manufacturer's Approximate Suggested Retail Value (MSRP) is $30,000 (however the vehicle MSRP will not be finally determined until June 2012 at which time the confirmed MSRP will be released on www.scion.ca).
So it looks like Scion is saying $30k to cover their arse. $30K anticipated price. Good thing or bad thing?

Considering a manual tC with no options start at $20,940 Canadian, and in the US they start at $19,305. Not good.

Hoping Scion Canada is just overshooting things. $25-28K retail Canadian please.

$30K is kinda high. It does replace a legend but no way is this some premium coupe or some serious performance car it's quite basic. In a way the higher pricing might be good since people who actually have money won't mind paying a bit more while the kids that will just destroy these cars wont have a chance to own one till later.

i went in and preordered mine in Edmonton, the purchase manager came down and explained that while he cant release an official price its gonna be 27. Compared to a genesis coupe 2.0T, the genesis has 2 horsepower less, and weighs 450 lbs more in a front wheel drive chassis. Unless you like over weight torque steering beasts i think the choice is obvious...

Yeah, and an easily modded turbo platform and the 2013 is coming with 275HP!!! So 75 more HP (35% MORE)!!! And, you can actually fit humans in the rear seats.

The 2013 Genesis is a beast. A better platform in terms of making power vs the FR-S.
