Japan BRZ / 86 pre-order numbers

Our Japan office talked to SoJ and ToJ a bit yesterday, and unofficial semi-official numbers as of the 18th have the BRZ at 5000 pre-ordered, and the 86 at 8000 pre-ordered. Anybody in Japan trying to order either the Subaru or Toyota will have to wait till August now...

8000 preorders just in Japan? Believable? That is ALOT of preorders if you ask me. Wonder how much international preorders that is. Of course these preorders aren't all going to go through. I have a "preorder" at my local Scion dealership too. Doesnt mean I'm absolutely going to buy one. I just have a number on a wait list.

Man they are going to have a hell of a time trying to keep up production numbers.. 8000 preorders in japan alone!

I doubt they even have 800 cars made!

WTH! That much pre-orders. Crazynesss! When do the American pre-orders start? I wonder if the U.S. FR-S pre-order list will be as big as the one for Japan.

Toyota will have to start producing these quick, 8000 cars for Japan alone is a lot hopefully they can keep up the pace and won't delay release dates or have anyone waiting longer than expected.
