    Major disappointment at DETROIT

I went to the NAIAS on Tuesday. What a disappointment. Both the FR-S and BRZ were present, BUT, you could not get close at all and no way to see the interior of either car. Total waste of time. This car has already frustrated me beyond belief.

It looks OK in person, it needs a drop BADLY. The BRZ has some features that look better, but overall the FR-S was the nicer looking car in person IMO. The stock wheels are garbage. First mods, springs, wheels with staggered setup. The car is very small and NO WAY is anyone getting into the rear seat. I could not really check it out, but the back leg room has to be nil.

That said, the new Honda Accord Coupe looked really nice. Not saying it in any way, shape, or form belongs in the conversation, just saying it was pretty nice in person.

I don't know I thought it was ok. But I do agree that they should allow people to enter the vehicles soon. We want to interact with the cars. That is why we go to autoshows. This isnt a 100,00$ exotic. No reason to keep the car locked.

Yeah, NISSAN still won't let anyone sit in the GT-R either, then they wonder why sales are in the shitter.

Glad to hear that the car is very small. 166 inches long gives me an idea but when I see one in person I want my reaction to be "damn that thing is tiny!!" in excitement.
I can't wait to own a tiny RWD coupe!

    Question.....

I'm 6', I know you said you couldnt get a good look at the interior, but in your best guess...what do you think the head room would be? Or...could you compare what you saw to another car...just so I could see if I could actually fit in it?

well even if it is tight we could always go after market seats and rails just to position the seat lower, or unless they allow the seats to go super low and hug the floor hopefully.

I am sure you could squeeze a little with some mods, doubt you will get the seat too much more towards the rear without seat removal, but I am sure their will be aftermarket rear seat delete kits for this car to shave some more weight and for stereo gear etc.

First off yes you will be able to fit in the car with EASE I you're six feet. The scion is meant specifically for the US market and they're targeting males and the avg height in US for males is 5 10. With the car being so low there will be more than enough space and I'm asuming that a 6, 4 person would be closer to the max without hitting heads. Secondly the GTR is expected to be hidden considering the semi large price and the entire car is based on its insides. The FR-S looks more than amazing in person and if you honestly don't like it you could get an aftermarket body kit or just simply not buy the car since cars are not meant to please every single person for if they were no on would like them.

I always drove small, tight cars- SAAB 900S, HONDA Civic Si
    and the tradition will continue!
Was considering the BMW 1 but always thought it looked like a clown car
and with that crease in the doorsill- makes it look broken from the side!
...once i have kids, if we need space, we'll take moms SUV~

I completely agree with you, I'm 5'11" and have fit comfortably in an S2000, Miata and my '90 Civic Si hatch. This car should have plenty of room for a six foot tall person. I also think that part of the reason they wont let people sit in the car yet is they're trying to nail down the final options still. Imagine everyone complaining: "But the one at the auto show had red stitching, why doesn't this one? Whahhh". I have yet to see it in person, but am confident enough that I've put down my deposit and am number two at my shop for a white on.

You will be able to fit in the front. It's the back you have to worry about. As well if you are very WIDE you might not fit comfortably into the bucket inspired seats.

Just head to the show with a Scion master key. When the guards run up to you asking how you opened the door just shrug and say "I don't know it was unlocked"
