Who's waiting for a factory tuned (S/C'd or Turbo'd) version?

Been lurking for quite a while but decided to start posting to see what everyone is thinking. On that note, how many people are waiting for Toyota/Scion to come out with a version already beefed up? Also, if Subaru were to offer a turbo version would you go with Subaru instead?

My experience over the last 15 yrs of owning Toyota's is that a supercharger is in our future. Never owned a turbo'd car, but have owned plenty of S/C'd so I'm curious to see how Toyota tackles the power request of its customers.

TRD may or may not make a superchager for the FR-S. Depends whether you will be willing to wait. I don't think the engine choice will change. Of course for the premium that Toyota / Scion is going to charge for the supercharger version you will probably be better of buying the regular FR-S and supercharging it or turbocharging it yourself.

even if they did produce a turbo'd or sc'd version the power numbers wouldn't be huge in power numbers sadly that just how it will be i think .

the fr-s is so light weight we dont need a lot of power...i ve read that when they come out with their SC its easily ganna get 250 hp which they said is the equivalent of a 325hp 370z.

I think I'm waiting to see if they bring out a factory turbo'd or S/C'd FR-S. If they don't, I'm def waiting for multiple people to turbo or SC their FR-S, just so I can see what the power gains will be and see what kind of kits are out there.

That and I want to see how strong the FR-S engine is and if it's as "bullet proof" as previous engines in Toyota vehicles such as the 2JZ which could take a beating.

Ken Gushi's FR-S drift car makes 600HP, I wonder how it makes that much and what it takes to get an FR-S to that stage.

I bet it's a full swap. I'm going to try and get our racing manager to find out.

To make note... its still a subaru inspired motor and it technically is a Subaru i would say so it wont exactly be that bullet proof...

I do believe I'm with you on that. From my non-expert "knowledge" from reading on various car forums...rarely do cars get that much power off of the stock engine...including internal reworking. Usually they need an engine meant for that much power.

If you could find out that would be cool. Glad to know Hankook is in here.

I never doubted that Scion racing opted for another engine. It would take too much time and work to turn the stock FR-S engine to something that powerful. Money and time that they dont want to spend. Most like a cowsworth STi motor. Still insanely bada22 though.
