    Shift light

I was watching a BRZ commercial and I noticed a shift light. Is it based on RPM ? Is it an idiot light ? Is it on the Scion ?

Seems like the light will just be built into the tach. That isn't a bad idea. It isn't a huge bright light so it shouldn't be that annoying. Plus I'm not going to be redlining the car often enough for it to become annoying.
