Toyota GT 86 Added to Gran Turismo 5 in Latest Update

Gran Turismo 5 will be getting an update (version 2.02) on December 20th and with it will come the addition of Toyota‘s GT 86 to the game for free. A new downloadable content (DLC) Car Pack 2 will also be available for just $3.99 adding four new cars to your collection.


Wonder if the handling in the game is made up or if they actually based it off the real car. I know the concept 86 car in the game was not that fun to drive. Any GT5 players here?

Shit...I think I have the game for PS3....I'll have to see if I still have it...I migggghhhhht just have to load it up today. I've read that GT is pretty realistic whn it comes to driving mechanics. No idea how true that is...

It isn't bad. Its competitors would be Forza. For me I wish grand turismo put realistic exhaust sounds in the game. The driving dynamics is one of the best for gaming.

Test drove the 86GT in game in stock trim with racing hard tires against similar competition. Also did a run with one specced out to 345 hp on racing hard tires against similar point competition. Lets just say if this car handles like it does in the game I will have to get my hands on one. Stock form is 3 seconds or so faster around Tsukuba circuit race than a Miata with my lousy driving. Modded version was 5 seconds faster at the end of race than a Evo IX GSR.

If the performance in GT5 is somewhat accurate then the stocker will not run much faster than a miata in a straight line.

Highly doubt GT5 is accurate. Real life is much more REAL then a video game. I can get under a minute as Tsukuba with a modded Honda. I'd be happy if I could get 1:10 in real life haha.
