    Hello from the Bay Area!

Hey Everyone, I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area, Daly City to be exact. 19 Years old, 1st-year College. Avid Road Bicycle racer.

I've been a Toyota fan my whole life, and that's probably because my dad has been a Toyota Salesman for the past 17 years. Lucky for him, he'll be able to drive the FR-S before most people, and I'm going to convince him to video it and tell me every little detail before the release date. I've been bugging him about it ever since I found out about the FT86 in October 2009. I believe he could be looking forward to a new demo car. I also believe that he can read my mind which basically says "Whiteout Scion FR-S Manual Transmission."

I don't know how to drive a manual, but last summer I started studying transmissions from articles and Youtube videos, and I've watched plenty of "How-To Drive Manual" videos. I don't want to drive manual because it's "cooler," "faster," or because it "makes you more of a man," I want to drive a manual to get the powerful bond/relationship between the car and I. Don't get me wrong, I have a very strong bond with my Corolla, but even I can tell that the automatic transmission is a barrier to a deeper bond with the car.

There's a lot I want to say, like how I have a 2006 Corolla I was building up (just started) but I quit the project to get ready for the FR-S. Sadly, the Corolla will have to go if I do end up getting an FR-S. But it's still pretty unclear so I'm still enjoying everyday with my beloved car I learned how to drive in.

But that's all for now. I forgot this was just an introduction. Feel free to ask any questions!

    Thanks, Dom

welcome! that would be a blast being 19 and being one of the first to test drive the FR-S

Just tell your dad to take the car home and learn how to drive manual in the demo car haha

a 2006 corolla now that is a odd car to modd or to start off modding to say the least!

But driving manual is a hell of a lot faster...and more fun... though i must say in order to love your car it really becomes a love hate relationship!

Thanks! I wasn't planning on performance mods for the corolla apart from lowering springs. No body kit either, I was converting it to an Altis, the Asian domestic market version of the corolla. Just wanted it to be a tad different from the millions out there =p

Hey dude I'm the same as you haha, I'm 19 and I also have a 2006 automatic corolla and I do not know how to drive stick. I'm also from the bay area! haha but man you're so lucky that your dad works at Toyota! Good luck in getting your FR-S and maybe in the future we might even race eachother on 280 by accident, haha.!
