Who wouldn't want Toyota old motor into anything, its been 17 years since it first came out the 2JZ and to this date people are still building the motors and making a crazy amount of power out of them

I for sure would love to have this in my car

The front of the FR-S FT86 looks like it would be able to fit a 2JZ. I know for sure someone is going to try in Japan haha.

FR-S + 2JZGTTE VVTi will be such a sick setup. I would never try it for a while tho, I like my warranty lol and funds aren't high enough to not care about warranty.

It will be a costly build and something you have to really want to do. FR-S price - $30k, 2JZ Swap - $10k, expensive build if you ask me but probably well worth it + you get bragging rights lol

let's leave it to the japanese to do these unknown swaps. when the ft86 is out its a matter of time until someone tries. that engine is the first one i would think of if I were to swap a bigger engine into the Toyota FT86

I heard RB26's aren't reliable but when you get them running properly they're unbeatable. I think a 2JZ will be a better option since they are probably a lot more reliable and when you lift up the hood you see Toyota on the engine so you have a much cleaner/OEM look.

LOL, I am afraid to ask the age of you guys who are still riding the 2JZ bandwagon? A 2JZ swap will and can be done very very easy. As in any JZ swap you have to custom fab motor mount adapters, worry about rad location & cooling and hood clearance. after that, its just sheetmetal and driveshaft work. Keep in mind you will have to run a standalone, since the ECU was designed for the boxer.

You guys are looking at dumping 20k++ into a car that costs 20k+. Just start with a better car if you want to make that much power. Maybe I am missing the fact that this is some ricer tuner thing?? Help me out.

If I wanted 500-600hp I would just go buy a new GT500 and call it good. If you have to do this for the culture of rice tuner cars, then I get it, but it is surely not the most economical way to go.

Are you seriously dreaming, or do you really want to buy a brand new car and hack this piss out of it???

By the time you take the plunge, build the engine, make it fit, screw up the balance, and get it all sorted, my guess would be you would have been better buying a used GT-R for the money spent. Just saying. This car is brand new. Not tweaked on for 20 years. It is all new and unproven and unexplored. Will tuners do it.....sure. Is it practical.....NO. In 5-10 years when you can get the car for $8-10 grand.....OK. But brand new??? Hell, just do like everyone else and shoehorn an LSX in there. LOL

Hopefully it fits, I've seen online a older rhd impreza with a rb26, no mods to the firewall.., so it's been done before on cars wit boxer engine.. If there no cutting the fire wall n frame to make it fit I'm all for..might try it myself... Got my ticket for up coming Tokyo auto salon lets see what Jdm has to show

I'm having my doubts already, the engine bay on the S2k is pretty big and the hood extends pretty far. Looking at the FR-S we might have to cut into the firewall just to fit a 2JZGTE.

WOW, good move if you have an extra $50k laying around. Go buy a GT-R instead and save the headaches.
