Was wondering if any information has been released about the estimated 1/4 mile time or even the 0-60 times?
Anyone have some predictions on this respect?

Haven't seen anything official. I rather suspect it will be in the 8 second range for a 0-60 time.
8 seconds???? No way man, this is a performance car, not a Camry!!!
I would suggest high 5's or low 6's.... but no way its 7 or higher!!! None!!
This car must be under 7.5 or else it would be deemed unsuccessful. Toyota is going to market as a RWD sports car so make it behave like one... give us a great 0-60 and quarter mile time!
What is everyones guess about the 1/4 mile time for the FT-86?
I rather suspect it will be in the 13 second range.
I realize FWD and RWD are completely different as far as performance goes, but what other examples do we have of 160-200 HP naturally asperated cars doing 0-60 in less than 6.5 seconds? I can't think of any off the top of my head. Even the S2000 is 240 HP and revs up to 8000 rpm or something and that will do 0-60 in 5.6 IIRC. I'd love to see this car real fast but I don't know how. I think this car will perform very close to the Scion TC.
I think we all need to keep in mind that people will get a fun car but don't expect it to be some rocket. Specially at the price range they have announced it will be marketed at. It costs a lot to go fast.
If the 1/4 mile time is under 14 seconds that will be a good start.
Here's my take: I'm betting the base version will do 0-60 in about 6-6.5 seconds (I mean, come on, the celica GTS did 6.8), then the turbo will be somewhere in the 5.4-5.8 range, then the track will be somewhere in between but still closer to the base version as they have already stated that it will be NA and lightweight.
To be honest, I would like to see a NA larger engine with more HP for the performance version, but I doubt this would happen as a larger engine can upset the chasis performance dynamics they have based around a lighter engine. There are rumors that this will be the celica replacement and that there will be a completely different supra replacement. But to be honest, I like this and only want a higher HP performance version. The original red concept had all the flare needed to be a star, just add HP......![]()
It better not be slower than a cobalt ss or a neon srt.
But at days end it is still a neon![]()
truer words were never spoken.
im willing to bet my future FT-86 that it will NOT be faster then a stock SRT4(they will all be dead before this car is released) or cobalt SS(maby the supercharged one). as stated thoes were pocket rockets that are built to last till you run out of money and they have to repo it anyways. id be prefectly happy if this car is only in the high 6 sec, i have an SCed camry thats about that and it would be perfect for a starting point. my biggest worry about this car is that it will be heavy. they have to keep it light to compete and please the buyer.
if they make this car too fat, ill be buying a GTS celica, which i almost bought when i herd about this car.
