i havent ever heard of a boxer motor being supercharged. its always either n/a or turbo. i dont know if this is because of its flat layout. has anyone hear ever heard or seen a boxer motor thats supercharged?

It's not pretty common but there are more than enough Subaru's out there with an aftermarket supercharger kit. One drawback is compared to other supercharged cars the boxer motor tends to become obnoxiously loud when supercharged. Here's a video of a supercharged impreza on the dyno.

It very possible to do it. Its as easy as any kind of motor. Its not really that uncommon to see a supercharged Impreza.
It been done so i wouldnt be surprised, but why not stick to the turbos![]()
superchargers are generally cheaper. purchase, install, and maintain.
the engine bay on the fr-s looks pretty spacious too. lots of room for boost. just imagine now. a nice huge intercooler peeking out the front. hm
I'm all about turbo's. Mainly cause of how it sounds, gotta love that spooling up sound. Some cars sound like a jet with them. Only some cars sound sick with the whine of a supercharger.
wonder what causes cars to sound like a jet when spooling. was at local track and a evox sounded very much like a jet when it was spooling. its insane.
