if turbo is an option, thats fine. I dont have a problem paying for it. Besides the supra, I've never had a desire to own a toyota, they're boring.
Now this car on the other hand, as long as it ur available in a turbo trim, I will buy one. That being said, if there's no turbo version, just a 160hp n/a motor, I will not be buying one. I think there are many others who feel the same way.
If Toyota wants to shake the cobwebs, and get rid of the "boring and bland" type of cars, I'd say a turbo 6spd rwd is the best answer. Price it at $25k and they will sell so much volume it would be ridiculous.
has the turbo subaru engine been confirmed to go in any of these cars or is that just a rumor?
nothing much has been confirmed, it's all rumors and speculation at this point.
if the current Toyota is anything like it's past we can see a FR-S non-turbo (lowest trim) and a FR-S turbo sport model thats similar to the concept (highest trim)
Unsure of a inbetween model.
someone brought up a FR-S hybrid in another thread.
a turbo version on a higher trim level would be a whole lota fun
They already released the specs and statements about this kinda stuff.. Scion turbo version is not happening, it's just a NA 2.0 liter H-4 200hp, 148 lb torque. Only way your gonna see a turboed version is perhaps from Subaru? but who knows they haven't released any information about their version so far
looks like we are going to have to put turbos in ourselves![]()
lol good news for people in Asia, bad for me!
Were getting a 200HP engine while they have a 240HP engine and probably with more torque.
Toyota and Scion knows american's love big power, hence the domestic's coming out these days that are performance focused are pushing 300-500 HP.
The wait for the release date is killing me and so is the wait for some official information.
For tuners I dont think it matters as much as how much power the FT-86 comes with. More importantly is how well the engine receives simple modifications. If a simple intake header exhaust will unlock more power and torque then I would be happy. I don't expect the stock FT-86 to be extremely fast. I wouldnt be suprised if the japanese version was 240hp and the american version was 200hp.
