FT-86 engine options: interchangeable like subaru

Just in case I want to do an engine swap. Will it be just like any other Subaru engine? With Subaru you can literally take any engine from any Subaru and it will fit with little to no modification required in any other Subaru. Since this engine is designed by Subaru I'm wondering if it will be that easy as well. Think of all the possibilities.

that would be amazing if thats the case. imagine putting a modded fj20 in it. 2013 is too long to wait for this car.

I'm actually interested in that as well. If you had the cash and access to a built FJ20 motor wouldn't you put it on the car? That's assuming that this will be like all the other Subaru motors that are literally like lego blocks and are interchangeable with each other.

wasn't it declared somewhere that the mounts are the same among the fr-s ft-86 and w.e the subaru version will be called? if the mounts are the same between the subaru engine and the toyota version it doesnt seem like it would be too imposible to technically put another subaru engine into the ft-86. awesome..

haha, thats what I thought too.

I will keep the factory engine and extract a ton of HP from it. It should be years or more before you ever consider swapping engine's, at least wait till warranty is up unless your balling and don't care for warranty.

    Thanks for the help dude
