People always wonder whether this boxster engine will sound like a tractor like other Subaru engines. I have a tip from someone that says otherwise so we can all relax hopefully (this is a rumor)
So one of my issues is now somewhat addressed and the car, if all else is good, with proven Aisin 6 speed manual transmission and well tuned chassis, would be a very attractive product for sub-$30,000 price tag. Can't wait!!About the Subaru flat four... They did manage to conjure up a tuned exhaust port and equal length, unequal diameter runners...and the result is that this flat four exhibits none of the "blap blap blap" noises akin to older Subaru flat 4's. It sounds very much like a inline 4 now, and unless you peek under the hood, most people will be hard pressed to know its not a straight 4. Very crisp, sounds and extremely light and responsive throttle.![]()
