FR-S modifications What Do you think it will need off the line?

What mod's will the fr-s need do you think once it comes off the line

I know most basic colt on upgrades usually are after market exhaust, after market headers. And stuff like that as well.

I know other thing will prob be either lowering springs or even coil overs and wheels of course, along with also rims and maybe even brakes or will bigger brakes for extra stopping power! or even sway bars and extra bracing if needed.

I know i would upgrade brakes if they were big enough and exhuast and rims!

intake race header exhaust right away. New forged lightweight rims and track spec coilovers. sway bars and all other kinds of bars. ECU management. CF hood. Lighter seats. Heavier shiftknob. More aggressive clutch. maybe new pedals if oem ones suck. and maybe a lip kit or clean body kit (if that exists) the list goes on. Im not going to leave this thing stock. 200hp is simply not enough.

A well designed exhaust and intake system will make the car sound much better. I would really like to know how the FR-S sounds in person. Hopefully its tuned well.

I/H/E as soon as possible. Cosmetics such as lips, splitters, and diffusers to get the FR-S back to "concept-like" appearance. Coilovers next.

Full LED taillights would be nice.

The first thing we are doing on ours is building a header, intake and maybe use the Greddy cat back. I think the Greddy sounds good but with a header and high flow cat awsome.

I can wait to see how much room is in those rear fenders for a wider wheel and tire. A 215 is not near the tire needed for more power.

First thing, it needs a drop badly. It looks like a monster truck. Second, new wheels and preferrably a staggered setup. Third, exhaust and hopefully there is some hidden power in the tune for the fourth item. I think some nice CF side skirts and front lip will help with an aggressive look.

It does look like a monster truck. I agree with you on that. Coilovers #1

    Melt the stock tires #2

    Buy new tires #3

Take it to the tail of the dragon and drive it off a cliff #4

What coilovers are you guys thinking of going with right now I have the Tein Basics on my G35 I really like it for a daily car but at the track not that great. I'm new to the toyota aftermarket I always wanted a supra but could never afford it so I see the frs best bang for the buck now days for a guy like me that wants to track his daily driver . My question is what are some good companys that actually make good coilovers for toyotas?

I wouldn't go for tein basics or tein super street not worth spending the money, they are the same as function and form type 1 or type s which ever you prefer.

Maybe on my on personal preference, PIC , or even STD coil-overs arnt bad, Or even Buddy clubs!

Another mod is rims! and lip kit! and a race header + exhaust! must make full use of that Subaru rumble!

What about Eibach? I keep hearing good things about their springs I don't know much about coilovers.

I got a question guys do you guys really think race headers will give power to the boxer engine? Because from my experience with my car the VQ motors don't really make any power from headers. I saw a lot of power when I switched from cats to test pipe I think 18whp.

    here is my mod list
    1. Coilovers for the monster truck
    2. Exhaust I really don't know which but most likely HKS or Greddy.
    3. Take the cats off
    4. Intake/Tune
    5. Wheels with some sticky tires
    6. Light weight mods (CF hood...) I want to bring that 53/47 as close to 50/50 as possible
    7. Brakes are a must I really don't know if I will go with a BBK out of the box because from what I've seen in the review everyone says they are good brakes maybe good pads with SS lines.
    8. Will see what happens when the aftermarket get the hold of the car maybe Turbo or SC

I would't get eibach springs. Don't get lowering springs. They are all show and no go..

Get a set of quality coilovers and spring rates that you are comfortable with. The term header is tricky... A race header is usually the shorty header and test pipe combined into one high flowing header. On your VQ the header didn't do much because all you did was replace your cast header with a stainless or ceramic one. It didn't offer much more flow because there was really not that much wrong with the stock header in the first place. The test pipe got rid of the #1 block in the exhaust system. The catalytic converter. Race headers delete the catalytic converter as well as the stock shorty header. So if there is a choice for a race header that deletes the cat-I would get that.

In your VQ35 case the race header is just a slightly higher flowing header right before the cat. TO get the best gains you should change the entire exhaust system to a higher flowing, equal length piping all the way from the engine out to the muffler.
