First mods will be turbo-back exhaust (if it has a turbo), intake, and ECU tuning.
Probably wouldn't cost that much... (or be much of an improvement for that matter). The parts coming out would sell for more than the parts going in
The big plus would be the 30 odd years of knowledge to draw on with the 4AGE/4AGZE.... and the cult following the car would have on the Toyota scene.
Imagine if you dropped a Formula Atlantic spec 4AGE in the FT-86...pure sex!![]()

Tint and 3M film within the first week. Rims/tires within the first month ......then we'll see what the aftermarket comes out with first.
It'll be suspension(coilovers) and wheels for me. Maybe a lip
first mod will be 24'' gold rims, spokes, with that tacky gold molding you can put on the edge
and roll out to pick up some bitches, with my lift kit
coilovers(and other suspension mods)
splitter (as it sits now even a lip would be too much)
black wheels
(red car)
spoiler
the 3M film is the clear coating put on the front to protect rock chips and stuff correct? If so, that will be one of my first things too.
Red or Black car (may consider silver)
If they keep those same rims, I'd keep em, otherwise white 6 spokes with dish
Dark tint
A 10' or 12' sub. I'd keep everything else stock as long as it has USB input
A year or so down the road, new air intake and exhaust, and tune.
This is all based on there being a turbo version. If theres no turbo version, then I'll cry and Toyota won't get a dime from me!
tint, intake, an engine-back exhaust, suspension, rims/tires, brake pads or rotors, cams (god they better makes some), tune...in that order
Toyota is NOTORIOUS for 4x4'ing the production models. I have bought several new Toyota cars since 2000.... (3 lexus's and 2 toyotas) and they all were 2-3" taller at the wheel well than the brochure pictures and AutoShow display models. With that being said... my list will include. Coilover Suspension or Springs depending on if the car comes with those adjustable perches. A nice set of 18x9 18x10 lightweight wheels. I would like a front splitter and rear diffuser if possible. Other than that... I can get by with the remainder of what my $$$ bought me. I will make my own full Aluminum and Titanium exhaust. I will probably remove the radio and complete audio system, since I never listen to it anyway. I may transplant my Recaro seats if the stock ones are not extra comfy.
Coilovers for sure.. they really 4x4'd the FR-S and GT-86 makes me wonder how.. low that center of gravity can be... if the car is THAT high!
i will change the wheel for enkei raijin
1) The cheapest summer high performance tire I can find in stock 215/40R17 size and a set of used track day rims, rattle canned in black. Anything should stick better than Prius tires, but too big and there goes the balance.
2) A seat belt clamp, so my narrow self doesn't slide around in the big U.S. market seats.
