Modified Toyota 86 Features Supra-Inspired Taillights, Bound For Tokyo Auto Salon

The Toyota 86 is receiving a makeover courtesy of tuner Gazoo Racing – whether or not you think the car needs one. Called the GRMN Sports FR Concept, the modified Toyota 86 coupe (known as the Scion FR-S in the U.S.) will sport Supra-inspired taillights when it debuts at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon show later this month.

    Gazoo Racing
released a few teaser shots of the concept on its official website and Facebook page, revealing the taillight and headlight design. The headlights appear more streamlined and angular compared to the stock units, featuring four separate projector lenses within the housing along with what appears to be strips of LED running lights. But the taillights will likely be the first thing Japanese sports car enthusiasts will notice, as Gazoo Racing itself says the lamps were meant to recall those found on the fourth-gen Toyota Supra.

Also making an appearance at this month’s Tokyo Auto Salon are a number of Nissan concepts including the Juke Personalization Concept and Leaf with Nismo Performance package. The Juke’s already-polarizing design is further accentuated by a contrasting orange-and-dark gray paint scheme, while the Leaf EV gets a new aero-optimized body kit through the Nismo Performance package.
Check out all of the Tokyo-bound concepts below, and stay tuned for more coverage on the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon.

I'll judge it when I see the whole thing.

Now I have never taken my tail lights out but I am sure this wouldn't be a direct swap. Look at the gap between the very outside of the light and the rear quarter panel for starters. Minimal but it is not flush. Also, the rear bumper must be molded to fit these specifically because the Twin's tail lights are not this boxy. Maybe I just gave it to much thought. Not to shabby though
