Already 2 disappointments with a third potential to come...

Well I was waiting patiently for all the specs and photos to come out but it seems that two of the things I liked most on the car have been omitted from the Scion version. If you look at photos of the Toyota GT86 and the BRZ, the interior heater controls are a far nicer look than the standard humdrum controls on the scion version. Also the factory fog lights seem to be absent on the Scion which leaves me a little frustrated. These were the little details which put the car over the top for me. And now as the rumors point to a potential 30k price tag I wonder, are any of you out there a little put off?

Honestly...if I were to get this car, it would have to have a lower price tag no matter what features were included or omitted. Remember, once this car comes out, I bet there will be aftermarket parts for it. You could always buy replacement knobs for the controls. As far as fog lights, I believe those are included with different models...so they might not be available for the base model...but will be available for the higher models. Also, if you want different features added into the car...I'm sure they(dealership) could install it for you. When I got my car a while back...I had them put in some things...sunroof was one of them. 6 hours later...my new car had a newly installed sunroof.

I think since the anouncement of the car things have gotten down to a lower level for all of us..

At first we expected a turbo motor or higher powered motor and we were givin a 200hp boxer non turbo motor. We then hoped the BRZ version would get a turbo motor. Nope... Then the concept photos came out made by 5axis and everyone went crazy saying the design is outstanding. The production comes out and its not exactly as attractive. Then we wait for TRD and STI to come out hoping for superchargers and turbochargers. Nope none of that. The interior came out and some were further dissapointed. Now its a matter of picking smaller fights with Scion/Toyota and Subaru to see if this car is still worth it. And I think it all comes down to the price. Will this car sell if it sells for 30k? Yes but I don't think it would sell as well as if it were selling for 25k. One thing for sure. In the second hand market 5 years down the line this car will be a popular car.

Nice summation. You nailed my thoughts.

This just in! 170rwhp and open deck block. No closed deck for us. That means you can forget about the snail.

Next up! I'm guessing 27K USD pricing! Canadians can forget about it! Buy the new Genesis coupe!

    jk..

I hope it isn't too expensive. It better handle like an Ariel Atom.

Sorry but it's a Scion so your logic here doesn't really make sense there is no base model or higher models theres only one model and that's it besides the typical Scion Release Series that they release once a year but every dealership only gets about 1-3 of these so not exactly the best thing in the world. And yeah just to further comment open deck.... is a face palm not even a semi closed? what a joke unless the cars like under 25k I'd rather just buy the new STi or something when it comes out

With proper HIDs you do NOT need fog lights at all!
But will the Scion even come with these???

Even if Scion doesn't come out with HIDs at least there are projectors in the housings so if you decide to add HIDs the light wont blind everyone oncoming. Foglights are useless for the most part.

No point in retroing projectors. The FR-S does come with projectors. I am most likely just going to buy a Subaru BRZ headlight assembly with the HID intact lol. Hoping for quality philips and denso HID kit.

How good is your relationship with them? Because I seriously doubt they will have your car by first week of April. Although the price is correct though. I have information from a reliable source inside Toyota HQ in Canada that it wont be available til mid April.
